ReWax and UnWine Waiver and Release of Liability

PARTICIPANT WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK

This waiver must be signed by any participant of ReWax and UnWine before engaging in any candle making experience, whether on-site, at a mobile event, or during a private party. If under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of the minor.

 

Release of Liability

You and/or your child will be participating in a professional candle-making environment using professional equipment such as wax melters. While equipment will be monitored and safety instructions provided, participation inherently carries risks.

 

Be aware that fragrance oils and materials used may cause allergic reactions or respiratory issues in sensitive individuals. Additionally, materials such as hot wax, dyes, and metal tools can cause burns or injury if mishandled.

 

Participants are responsible for evaluating their own fitness and appropriateness to participate, including the skill level of any children involved. Any damages to personal belongings are also the responsibility of the participant.

 

ReWax and UnWine, its affiliates, franchise network, franchisor, owners, and employees are not responsible for any injury, illness, or damage resulting from participation in candle-making activities, including but not limited to:

 

Slip-and-fall incidents

 

Burns from hot wax or tools

 

Spills on clothing or personal property

 

Allergic reactions (including airborne exposure)

 

Allergy Disclaimer – Coconut Wax & Fragrance Oils

We use coconut wax in all our candles, which is disclosed on our website, in our studio, and in person. This wax is not for consumption or topical use; however, if you have a severe airborne coconut allergy or sensitivity to fragrance oils, you should not participate in this activity.

 

By participating, you acknowledge and accept the risk of potential allergic reactions and release ReWax and UnWine, its affiliates, and its franchisor from liability. It is your sole responsibility to manage your allergy risk.

 

Hands-On Experience & Human Error Acknowledgment

Candle making is a DIY, hands-on experience. Our team provides instruction and guidance, but outcomes may vary based on participant actions.

 

ReWax and UnWine is not responsible for imperfections or malfunctions caused by:

 

Pouring wax at incorrect temperatures

 

Adding too much or too little fragrance or dye

 

Failure to stir adequately

 

Delayed action after wax cooling

 

We do our best to ensure a great result, but the final product depends on your actions. Participation includes acknowledgment of this risk.

 

Photo and Media Release

By attending our events, you grant permission for ReWax and UnWine to take and use photographs and video footage of you or your child for publicity, social media, promotional, or advertising purposes without additional permission or compensation.

 

If you do not wish to appear in any media, you must inform our staff upon arrival.

 

Candle Care Acknowledgment

Proper candle care is vital for your safety. You agree to follow these safety guidelines:

 

Burn candles no more than 4 hours at a time

 

Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use

 

Keep candles away from drafts, children, pets, and flammable materials

 

Do not move candles while burning or when wax is hot

 

Discontinue use when ¼ inch of wax remains

 

Never leave a burning candle unattended

 

ReWax and UnWine is not responsible for any damages, house fires, or injuries caused by misuse of the candle after you leave our premises. We are also not obligated to replace broken or damaged candles once you leave.

 

Alcohol and Substance Use

Participants must be 21 years or older to consume alcohol. ReWax and UnWine is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from alcohol or drug consumption.

 

We reserve the right to refuse service or remove participants who are visibly intoxicated. If you drive under the influence after the event, ReWax and UnWine is not liable for any resulting consequences.

 

Emergency Medical Treatment

In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize ReWax and UnWine to seek emergency medical care on my behalf. I understand I am responsible for any associated costs.

 

Minors

Children under 18 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Guardians accept full responsibility and liability for minor participants.

 

Waiver and Release

I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims for damages, injuries, death, or permanent disability I or my child may suffer as a result of participation in any activity at ReWax and UnWine.

 

I understand the risks involved and agree to participate voluntarily. This includes risk from my own actions, inactions, or negligence; the actions or negligence of others; and unknown or unforeseeable risks.

 

This waiver shall be binding upon me, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns. If any part is deemed unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full effect.

 

Acknowledgment and Consent

By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understand, and voluntarily agree to all terms and conditions in this consent and waiver. I also confirm that I have read and understand the candle care instructions, allergy disclosures, and alcohol policies.

 

I knowingly and voluntarily waive all legal rights to pursue claims against ReWax and UnWine, its affiliates, franchise network, franchisor, owners, and employees.
